Just curious if you've seen the final product, Wendago, and if it resembles anything close to what you originally wrote since going through development hell.
I haven't seen a finished cut of the film but I have read the shooting and reshoot drafts, which is standard before release. The producers send out a list of who they recommend for credit and the writers (in this case there were eight sets) read and decide if they want to arbitrate. Mandate suggested I get Story By and Wheaton get Screenplay by.
I was the first writer, followed by Stuart then when it ended up at Ghost House Wheaton took over. There were five more sets of writers after him. As first position writer I was pretty much guaranteed at least Story by and after reading the drafts I decided not to arbitrate for more.
Does my script resemble what got made? Yeah, there's a resemblance. I guess it's a little like Armageddon and Deep Impact. Same story. Very different movies.
A year or so down the road I may post my original draft for those bored enough to feign interest.
Love to read it if you decide to post it. And I'm not feigning interest.
