Well despite all the negative reviews I have heard, I went to see Cursed anways. It wasn't as bad as so many people made it out to be.

But with that said it wasn't all that good. It just seemed to be lacking, my guess is the rewrites and reshoots are the main reason for that.

What happened to Wes Craven over his last few movies? He needs to go back to his roots and deliver the way he once did.

The main reason I enjoyed Cursed was really because of Christina Ricci. She is so hot Very Happy
Well, I know the first cut of the movie was pretty unwatchable. My understanding (being that I'm friends with the editor brought in for the reshoots) was that it has gotten better and better as time went on.

Writers often complain but many times rewrite (and even reshoots if it comes to that) will help the movie.

But since yelling gets more attention than satisfaction, we tend to hear about the horrible rewrites. Those in which you start with a medium rare New York Stripe and some producer walks up, squats and proceeds to defecate upon because he or she is too stupid to know they are making a poop on their meal.

But let's be honest. Not all scripts start out as a medium rare steak. And perhaps Cursed is an example of starting with a few flaws.

Because, if you start with a plate full of poop, it really doesn't matter how much Kool Whip and chocolate chips you cover it with...it still tastes like poop.
This was horrible!!!! Poor Craven man... I'm glad he's finished with Dimension's contract.

I just skimmed thru Todd's essay about trying to NOT hate any movies... but I can't help it with this one.

Utter boredom set in, and I was constantly checking my DVD player's "Time remaining" feature.... Horrible FX, bad writing... just ughh.

I expect a lot more out of Craven. Even if Williamson wrote it.
