I'm ready to send a couple treatments off, now it's time for the cover letter. Any tips or examples of what to / not to do?

Unfortunately I don't have any words of wisdom for you about cover letters. I've never used them and the handful I've asked haven't either. I doubt there's any clear rule to them, short and sweet I'd guess. I'll keep asking around. Hopefully you can not only find someone who has used them but has used them successfully and pick his or her brain.
